Under its original "Goxhill" name the company was conceived as long ago as 1904, but its present strong foundation was established by the Oldridge family in 1960. Over the years the company went through a gradual transition from a small Lincolnshire brick and tile maker to a well-known and trusted national presence in the roofing industry.
Today Sandtoft Roof Tiles Limited is the largest British tile manufacturer to remain independent and family controlled. The Sandtoft Group, with its headquarters at Sandtoft near Doncaster, now operate five manufacturing works in Humberside and Yorkshire, employing more than 300 people.
Sandtoft's extensive range of hand and machine-made clay, concrete and slate profiles, colours and textures with complementary fittings can meet the specifier requirements of most modern and traditional roof styles and still achieve empathy with the local environment. Its Heritage Department of skilled craftsmen have produced hand-made tiles for numerous prestigious projects around the country.
