For example, roofs in Glasgow are likely to require a quite different fixing specification than in Central London. Why? Because, under BS 5534, the basic design wind speed for wind loading calculations in Central London is around 37m/s, whereas it is over 50m/s in Glasgow. Get the fixing details wrong, and the results can be serious!
